Subject: Marines take care of their own...


Gen. Peter Pace, first jarhead to ever be Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, recently came under criticism from Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada. Sen. Reid was irresponsible in his comments and way out of line. This is what he said -
Sen. REID: "Well, I guess the President, he's gotten rid of Pace because he could not get confirmed here in the Senate. Pace is also a yes-man for the President. I told him to his face, I laid it out last time he came in to see me. I told him what an incompetent man I thought he was."
Marines take care of our own. Take five minutes and do four things -
1. Call Sen. Reid's office and tell him his comments about Gen. Pace were uncalled for. His number is (202) 224-3542. An automated message will give you the option to leave a voicemail just press "2"...very easy!

3. Contact your local newspaper and write a letter to the editor ( my sample is below, feel free to personalize it for yourself)
4. Forward this to as many Marines as possible to make sure they get our message and they will think twice before screwing with our fellow Marines again.

I am a proud former United States Marine and like many of my colleagues am very proud of General Pace as the first Marine to be Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. His service to our country has been exemplary and he deserves better than to be made into someone else's political piñata. Senator Harry Reid should apologize today for his unprofessional and unstatesman like comments about General Pace. In the future he should pick on someone else as Marines are "your best friend or your worst enemy".

SEMPER “FLY” – FOR A SPECIAL CAUSE

A Plane’s Restoration – with a Big Heart

French Valley Airport, Murrieta, CA, June 6th, 2007, Shayne Meder, Marketing Director for Wings & Rotors Air Museum, has a soft spot for all flying craft… helicopters and planes in particular.

When Dave Barron one of the museum’s volunteers commented about a tired looking Cessna Skyhawk in a state of deterioration out on the tarmac, it aroused an interest with the staff. That interest resulted in learning the true, sad story of the little plane. It had been sitting out in the elements for five years. Owned by a U.S Marine veteran, it was near and dear to him. Marine Master Gunnery Sgt. Mike Tyndale had lots of hours in it, including flying it to Catalina on his honeymoon.

Transferred to North Carolina, he left his Cessna out in the weather at French Valley because he couldn’t afford a hangar. From North Carolina, he shipped out to Iraq, returning just this past February. It’s been out there for five years and Mike would like it back in the air. But the cost to get it airworthy was way beyond his budget.

After Dave related Mike’s dilemma to the museum’s volunteers, they determined that this Marine had already given 26 years of his life to the Corps and they were going to give him his plane back – flight worthy. It’s been almost a year, and so far the restoration has taken more than the 100 hours that was estimated to accomplish the restoration, including carpet, tires, instruments, engine parts and reupholstered seats. Included is about $20,000 in donated parts and materials. All in all the project is worth more than $30,000, at no cost to Mike.

The project is almost finished and the little Cessna just received a whole new paint job. The new paint scheme designed by painter Shayne Meder will be completely different then the original and will be a welcomed surprise to its proud Marine owner.

The team from Wings & Rotors Air Museum is unveiling the aircraft at the French Valley Airport Open House on June 9th at 11:00 AM and will present Sgt. Tyndale with the keys to his plane with the local community and city officials there to applaud his service. The Museum sees this as an opportunity not only to show support for Mike, but for all our brave troops.

Wings & Rotors Air Museum is a 501(c ) 3 non-profit organization formed in 2000 for the purpose of restoring, preserving and furthering our military aircraft heritage – returning them to flight status – for today’s and tomorrow’s generations… with special emphasis on the Vietnam War era.

Bush's Resignation Speech!



We all have our disagreements with President Bush. Immigration, U.S.
Attorney firings, Iraq, Darfur, etc. are all hot topics these days. The
following "speech" was written yesterday by an ordinary Man. While
satirical in nature, all satire must have a basis in fact to be effective.
An excellent piece by a person who does not write for a living. Sent with

The speech George W. Bush SHOULD give:
Normally, I start these things out by saying "My Fellow Americans."
Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don't know who
more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has
happened, and that you're really not fellow Americans any longer.

I'll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all
in a lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid
prosecution or something, let me assure you: there's been no breaking of
laws or impeachable offenses in this office.

The reason I'm quitting is simple. I'm fed up with you people.
I'm fed up because you have no understanding of what's really going on
in the world. Or of what's going on in this once-great nation of ours.
And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it
out.
Let's start local. You've been sold a bill of goods by politicians and
the news media. Polls show that the majority of you think the economy is
in the tank. And that's despite record numbers of homeowners including
record numbers of MINORITY homeowners. And while we're mentioning
minorities, I'll point out that minority business ownership is at an
all-time high. Our unemployment rate is as low as it ever was during the
Clinton Administration. I've mentioned all those things before, but it
doesn't seem to have sunk in.

Despite the shock to our economy of 9/11, the stock market has
rebounded to record levels and more Americans than ever are participating
in these markets. Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and
most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high
because there's increased demand in other parts of the world, and because
a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and
beachfront property than your economic security.

We face real threats in the world. Don't give me this "blood for oil"
thing. If I was trading blood for oil I would've already seized Iraq's oil
fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. And don't give me this
'Bush Lied People Died' crap either. If I was the liar you morons take me
for, I could've easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could
be 'discovered.' Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence
was faulty. Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam
had the goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime change in
Iraq was official US policy before I came into office. Some guy named
'Clinton' established that policy. Bet you didn't know that, did you?

You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back during
the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic
models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally, the
Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to
outspend and out-tech them.

That's not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don't care
if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That'd be fine, as long as
they weren't also committed to taking as many of you with them as they
can. But they are. They want to kill you. And the bastards are all over
the globe.

You should be grateful that they haven't gotten any more of us here in
the United States since September 11. But you're not. That's because
you've got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law
enforcement and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that.
When this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and
difficult fight. I'm disappointed how many of you people think a long and
difficult fight amounts to a single season of 'Survivor'.

Instead, you've grown impatient. You're incapable of seeing things
through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that
wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.

Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy.
Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a
cut-and-run Democrat's political campaign, well, dammit, you might just as
well Fedex a grenade launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same thing.

In this day and age, it's easy enough to find the truth. It's all over
the Internet. It just isn't on the pages of the New York Times or on NBC
News. But even if it were, I doubt you'd be any smarter. Most of you would
rather watch American Idol.

I could say more about your expectations that the government will
always be there to bail you out, even if you're too stupid to leave a city
that's below sea level and has a hurricane approaching. I could say more
about your insane belief that government, not your own wallet, is where
the money comes from. But I've come to the conclusion that were I to do
so, it would sail right over your heads.

So I quit. I'm going back to Crawford. I've got an energy-efficient
house down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully
self-sufficient. No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and
as soon as I'm done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again.
Maybe I'll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of
America fall.

Oh, and by the way, Cheney's quitting too. That means Pelosi is your
new President. You asked for it. Watch what she does carefully,
because I still have a glimmer of hope that there're just enough of you remaining
who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2008.
So that's it. God bless what's left of America. Some of you know
what I mean.

Governor Jim Gibbons has maintained a firm commitment to hold the line against new or increased taxes, despite tremendous pressure in Carson City to raise taxes. No matter what the issue, the easy way out always seems to be to raise taxes, and the pressure is increasing at the end of the legislative session. Republican legislators need to hang tough and stick together on this issue, which may be the defining issue of our party. You can help by contacting your legislators (see contact data below) and/or writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. Here are some points you may want to make:


* Despite cries for more money, Nevada still has a budget surplus from the last biennium.
* Governor Gibbons presented the legislature a balanced budget that included record increases in education (18% for k-12, and 16% for higher education).
* Many proposals in the legislature include some form of tax increase, from raising the gas tax to taxes on trucks, to charging Nevadans more to renew their driver’s licenses. Whatever the proponents may call these schemes, they are all tax increases.
* Governor Gibbons has proposed a transportation funding plan that would take care of our congestion priorities by reallocating future growth of existing tax revenues—without raising taxes. It would allow revenues raised locally to stay local. It allows growth to pay for growth. Our citizens need to get to work, pick up their kids and get home quickly and safely.
* While some legislators have complained about the late timing of the governor’s transportation funding proposal, they have yet to bring their own ideas to the table. The Democrats complained about not being invited to the party, but they have never complained about the validity of the governor’s plan. He’s still open to ideas, but he says it’s time to stop coming up with excuses and make transportation a priority.


Among the governor’s other legislative priorities:


* The school Empowerment program, which can be funded with money the governor has already identified. Many Democrats want to use that money to pay for all-day kindergarten. Empowerment deserves a valid test in schools across the state. Your tax dollars should go to Empowerment schools.
* Our homeland security needs the backbone of a statewide “fusion” hub to gather intelligence and disseminate it throughout the state. The federal government awards homeland security grants to states which set up their own intelligence network. 46 other states currently have a fusion hub which allows two-way communication between the state and the federal Department of Homeland Security; Nevada has no such information hub.
* Funding for the Nevada Youth Challenge Program. This exposure to life skills, discipline and respect has proven to be a powerful tool to help troubled youth in other states. At-risk Nevada teens deserve the same opportunity to set their lives on a positive course.
